Why Rent a Car?

Explore the Island: Grand Bahama Island is 96 miles long, and there’s so much to see beyond just the local area. With a car, you can explore the island’s pristine beaches, vibrant local culture, and hidden gems at your own pace.

Convenience: Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore as you please without relying on taxis or pre-arranged transportation.

Important Notes

• Taxis: Available at the airport and harbour. There are no ride-share services like Uber on the island. A one-way taxi ride from the airport typically costs around $30, and $35 from the harbour. Most drivers accept only cash (USD is accepted everywhere, with no exchange fees as the rate is 1:1).
• Rental Cars: Rental car companies on the island tend to get booked up, especially during peak season. There are also no car rental agencies at the airport, so booking in advance is essential.
• Save Time: If you reach out in advance, most rental car companies will send you the paperwork to complete in advance of your arrival (Bullseye definitely will do this for you). Then, they will have your car waiting for you at the airport and you can be on your merry way, without having to go to their office to complete the paperwork, saving you precious vacation time!

Taxis

If you prefer not to rent a car, rest assured that there are taxis waiting out front to whisk you away at both the airport and the harbour. The cost from the airport for a taxi is normally around $30 and from the harbour, $35.

Since we drive on the left in The Bahamas, some people are not comfortable driving on the island. And that’s okay because there are a number of qualified taxi drivers that will be at your service. You’ll need to be able to contact them via WhatsApp to schedule a ride in advance. Please keep in mind: 

• There is no central number to call for a taxi.
• If you need to schedule a taxi for an early morning trip, it’s best to schedule it the day before. It’s also helpful to confirm at least 30-minutes prior to your planned trip via WhatsApp.

Tours and Dockside Pickups

Many of the water tours on the island will pick you up at our dock, so you won’t need to drive to their location. Here are some local tours we recommend: 

Paradise Cove at Deadman’s Reef

Discover vibrant marine life, including fish, stingrays, and sea turtles, in calm, shallow waters perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Enjoy spearfishing and freediving courses, then relax at the beach bar and grill. Paradise Cove offers a tour package and will pick up guests out front in our parking area. You’ll just need to reach out a day or two in advance to schedule your pick-up and tour.
