Cristina Zenato’s passion for diving and cave exploration is unmatched, driven by her deep commitment to marine conservation. Her gentle interactions have fostered a unique bond with a local shiver of Caribbean Reef sharks. Many sharks recognize her and seek her soothing touch.
Cristina tirelessly advocates for shark protection, using her extraordinary connection to remove hooks from their mouths and raise awareness about the challenges these magnificent creatures face. Her conservation efforts have been featured in National Geographic, BBC Science, and various diving publications.
Since falling in love with diving in The Bahamas in 1994, Cristina has called these islands home and the ocean her life’s work. As a certified full cave diver and technical instructor, she has taught others to explore and appreciate the underwater world since 2000.
